Mediterranean 2017
We flew to Venice for the start of our Mediterranean holiday with Qatar Airways via Doha. The service on the first leg was very disappointing, I had to ask for everything twice, little was offered. I was beginning to regret booking our flights next year with Qatar. On the second leg, Doha to Venice, the service could not have been better. At this stage had mixed feelings about Qatar.

In Venice we stayed at the Hotel Olimpia, which was quite close to the main bus terminal, parking stations and people mover to get you to the Cruise Terminal. Turned out to be a very pleasant stay. Our room, although small was comfortable, had recently been refurbished and had a view of the backyard garden. It was close to retaurants and the vaporetto stop. Breakfast was fantastic with a large selection of items to choose from, including prosecco.
Took a vaporetto ride down the grand canal and on to the Venice Biennale. In the afternoon we took the people mover to the cruise termainal and boarded the Agean Odysssey.
Next day joined the walking tour of Venice. St Marks square was wall to wall people around late morning. Crowds were going to be an ongoing issue for our trip.
